- ItemMetodología bim (building information modeling ) aplicada en diseño de instalaciones eléctricas residenciales.(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Intriago Cayo, John Alexander; Rocha Toapanta, Marcelo Jair; Porras Reyes, Jefferson AlbertoThis study addresses the issue of lack of integration and coordination in electrical installation designs, which leads to significant interference, delays, and cost overruns. The primary objective was to propose the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology to develop a set of plans that optimize the design process and economic viability compared to traditional methods in residential projects. The methodology employed included a comparative analysis between traditional methods and BIM, emphasizing key stages of planning, design, and construction, as well as data collection and site analysis, and the use of Revit software. The results showed that adopting BIM allowed the design of several plans and 3D modeling of electrical installations following NEC standards, leading to an improvement in design quality and a reduction in execution errors. These benefits are attributed to the early detection of conflicts and resource optimization, which, despite an initial 67% increase in costs, is justified by long-term savings and improvements. In conclusion, the BIM methodology stands out for its ability to integrate all aspects of design and construction into a single model, facilitating more effective management and ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards, thus enhancing the quality and reliability of electrical installations in residential projects.
