“Plan de revitalización cultural para la festividad pase del niño, parroquia La Magdalena, cantón Quito”
(Ecuador : La Maná Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Correa Mena, Cristian Paul; Toledo Villacis, Marco Antonio
The festival of the Passing of the Child of La Magdalena is a cultural event that is celebrated on December 24, 25 and 26, it has suffered a radical change in its components such as dance and oral traditions, all this is due to the problem of the absence of an individual and collective cultural identity in most of the youth of the parish where this event takes place, with this background it was determined the need for the creation of a cultural revitalization plan that contains projects and strategies that provide solutions to the social problems that afflict the party, For the development of the aforementioned document, a qualitative field research was conducted in December 2023, since it is a stationary party, with the qualitative methodology we implemented interviews to key people of the comparsas such as leaders and dancers with considerable seniority, once the field research was completed, the next step was to analyze the interviews and their results, at this stage we distinguished 3 problems that have affected the Pase del Niño some years ago, these are: Weak cultural identity, alcoholism and finally the lack of logistic and preservation support from the corresponding local authorities. In addition to this, the comparsas of the festivity were inventoried in order to make a detailed record of the aforementioned groups, with the purpose of using tools such as registration cards, as a result of this research a revitalization plan was developed and specialized to address the problems outlined above with the objective that the Magdalena collective entity is in charge of its implementation with this plan also seeks to rescue the traditions that make up the party and if elements to preserve the cultural identity of the parish.
