    Educación artística para el fortalecimiento de la motricidad fina

    The objective of this research work was to categorize Arts techniques to strengthen fine motor skills in fifth-year students of Basic General Education at the “Dr. Ricardo Cornejo Rosales” High School. The research began from the theoretical foundation of the variables “art education” and “fine motor skills”, through the search of study background that establishes a relationship between them. To describe the relationship between the study variables, the research was framed in the positivist paradigm, from a quantitative approach; the pretest and posttest technique was applied, in this sense a sample of 39 students from the fifth year of Basic General Education at the “Dr. Ricardo Cornejo Rosales” High School was determined, a checklist was designed as a data collection instrument. Through the designed instrument, the students were evaluated at first, by considering 10 achievement indicators related to the development of fine motor skills. Then, an educational intervention was applied through the art education workshops included in the “Manitos Artísticas” guide, designed by the author. After the educational intervention, the students were evaluated again to verify if there were any changes. Among the main results obtained in the research, it was determined that art education and the applied grapho- plastic techniques contributed to an improvement in manual skills, muscle tone, hand-eye coordination, accuracy, use of space, concentration, self-confidence and motivation of the children who participated in the study
