    “Optimización del macroproceso de gestión académica en la facultad de Ciencias de la Ingeniería de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi”.

    The academic management macroprocess is a set of processes designed to plan, organize, direct, and control all aspects related to the academic offering in the Engineering and Applied Sciences Faculty at the Technical University of Cotopaxi. However, it was identified that these processes were inefficient and prone to errors, which generated an urgent need for optimization to improve them. To contribute to the continuous improvement of these processes, an analysis that allows the optimization of the academic management macroprocess in the Engineering and Applied Sciences Faculty was proposed. An Ishikawa diagram was used to explore factors that contribute to the difficulties observed, and a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was performed to identify critical points and areas for improvement. Finally, a manual of processes and procedures that seeks to improve the understanding and execution of the processes was proposed. The result of this work was a deep understanding of the functioning of the academic management macroprocess and the creation of a detailed manual of processes and procedures for a better execution and organization of the processes, achieving a 29% increase in the efficiency of the processes that were deficient in their activities. In this way, it is estimated that the manual will be a valuable element for the work team since it will provide them with a reference to develop their activities efficiently and effectively, thus indirectly influencing the entire university.
